Athena is one of India’s leading insurance Broker/Risk managers specializing in fields of sports, leisure, and entertainment among others. We handle all areas of non-life insurance, but our core competency lies in sports/leisure/entertainment and marine liabilities.

We arrange insurance and reinsurance for Indian and Foreign Insurers in all classes of business on Proportional, Non-Proportional and Facultative basis with our strong and long-lasting business relations with the World’s leading Reinsurers, Lloyd’s and London market.

Utpal Kapadia

Founder

Late Utpal Kapadia, founder of Athena, was a visionary who played a pivotal role in shaping the insurance and risk management landscape in India and beyond. A Commerce graduate from Pune University, he began his journey in non-life insurance in 1980 under the guidance of his father, Mr. Viren Kapadia of Oceanus Mutual P&I Club.

With extensive experience across Protection & Indemnity, entertainment, freight forwarding, and liability sectors, he brought global expertise to the industry. He also strengthened Athena’s presence in the Middle East between 2000 and 2004.

A true pioneer, he led several industry firsts, including placing the first fixed premium P&I business for the Indian subcontinent, Asia, and the Middle East, and introducing innovative insurance solutions to the Indian market. His legacy continues to inspire us, reflecting a lifelong commitment to excellence, innovation, and integrity.

Vivek Mundada

CEO

Mr. Vivek has more than 36 years of experience in managing and growing medium and large companies.

He has extensive experience in operations, multi-channel distribution and international business.

In the past he has successfully completed structured financing and other government compliance for clients and even acted as a financial advisor at a bank panel.

Director

Is a dynamic business strategist with a proven track record of managing multiple businesses and helping them achieve operational excellence and sustainable growth. His passion lies in identifying the right processes, optimizing operations, and aligning business goals to maximize profitability.
