Athena is one of India’s leading insurance Broker/Risk managers specializing in fields of sports, leisure, and entertainment among others. We handle all areas of non-life insurance, but our core competency lies in sports/leisure/entertainment and marine liabilities.

We arrange insurance and reinsurance for Indian and Foreign Insurers in all classes of business on Proportional, Non-Proportional and Facultative basis with our strong and long-lasting business relations with the World’s leading Reinsurers, Lloyd’s and London market.

KEY PERSONS

Utpal Kapadia

Founder

Utpal Kapadia is the founder of Athena and started his journey with a Bachelor of Commerce from Pune University. He first took up non-life Insurance Training in 1980 under his late father Mr. Viren Kapadia, who was the representative of Oceanus Mutual P&I Club.

Utpal has several years of experience in the lines of P&I, Entertainment, Freight Forwarders and liability line of Business. He’s represented several insurers while in the Middle East from 2000 to 2004 for the Middle East and Indian sub-continent regions. Under his leadership, Athena has been placed as the first fixed premium P&I business for the Indian subcontinent, Asian and Middle Eastern Region in 1995.

He placed the first Insurance for an Indian Multi-Modal Transporter and was the first to introduce the International Marine Liability Insurance Program to the Indian Insurance Market.

Vivek Mundada

CFO

Mr. Vivek has more than 36 years of experience in managing and growing medium and large companies.

He has extensive experience in operations, multi-channel distribution and international business.

In the past he has successfully completed structured financing and other government compliance for clients and even acted as a financial advisor at a bank panel.

Dr. B. D. Pradhan

Director-Technical

Has more than 35 years of experience in a major Insurance Company in Senior Positions, looking after Marketing, Underwriting, Claims Management and Administration at various levels.
